BULRIS is the first infrastructure project to be implemented under Priority Axis 4 ‘Improvement of Maritime and Inland Waterways Navigation’ of OP ‘Transport’. The BULRIS project will be implemented in three phases. For the period until the end of 2013 a RIS telecommunications infrastructure in the Bulgarian part of the river Danube  – from station “Florentin” to station “Silistra” and to the operational RIS Centre in Rousse - will be built. It will provide various information services to all participants in the transport process and exchange data with the systems of other countries. The Project provides construction of the first building of its kind in Bulgaria, the River Information Centre Rousse. The extension of the scope of services and system and introduction of new technologies to improve the system is envisaged.
