The RIS Expert Groups

  • are international technical platforms ensuring the harmonized standards development in Europe.
  • are composed of various representatives, active in inland navigation, such as governmental bodies, branch organizations, research institutes, consultants and industry.
  • produce the standards and up-dates, but also technical clarification documents and other relevant documents.

The proposal for standards and other documents are delivered to the EU, the CCNR or other international bodies. These are the authorities that can give the documents a legal basis.

Until now each expert group has its own terms of reference (ToR). Platina is working at the moment on one basic ToR for all expert groups. As soon as this ToR is officially available it will be published in the RIS portal.
